Course: Information Retrieval, 84.260; 1 credit

Corequisites: Organic Chemistry Laboratory IIA, 84.228; and Organic Chemistry IIA, 84.222

Course Assignments: Reading and written assignments will be given for each lecture meeting. All assignments are to be obtained from the Web site, given above, for the course. All written assignments are due at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, before the next Thursday class, unless otherwise indicated on the assignment sheet. All assignments are to be submitted in the course envelope at OH 415b. Late assignments will be assessed a 25 point penalty  for each  week the assignment is late. Any assignment that is graded "unacceptable" must be redone and resubmitted. "Unacceptable" assignments will be assessed as late assignments. The final exam will be a take-home exam that will include both hard copy and on-line searching.

Grading: Assignments (50%) + Tests, Quizzes, and Final Exam (50%). At the end of the course, if any assignments graded "unacceptable" are still outstanding, their grades will be recorded as a ‘0’. If the final exam is graded "unacceptable", a grade of Incomplete will be given in accordance with University policies.
