All assignments should be word-processed. Label all printouts and photocopies of material with your name. Fasten all parts of an assignment together.

Assignment 5

1. You will receive a handout in class of two citations printed off from SciFinder Scholar.

       a. On the handout, please identify all the parts of each of the citations.  

        b. Write out the citations for both the article and the patent in correct format. 

        c. Does UMASS Lowell own the journal?

        d. If UML owns the journal, what is the call number and location.

        e. Does it have an electronic format and if so, in which database?

        f. Using SFS, locate the two citations, and print off the FULL record for each. Identify all parts.

2. Research your assigned compound in SciFinder Scholar's Registry File.

        a.  Print off the full record of your compound.  

        b.  Identify all parts

        c. Highlight all assigned CI names.. 

        d. Which properties are included for your compound in the full record? 

        e.  Locate one commercial source for your compound, identifying the address of the company and the amount of the compound available.
