1. Using the following on line resources:

•  Sigma-Aldrich Web site
•  SDBS spectra web site (Japanese)
•  NIST Website
• Bio-Rad's Know-It-All Software (on computers in Olney 223)  

    Submit the following:    

A.  Supply a photocopy of the IR and NMR spectra for your compound from each of the four sources. If not available, so state. On photocopies, highlight the name of your compound.
B. Cite each source.
C. Of these sources, which would consult first for an IR and/or NMR spectrum and why?

Substitute compound for Question 1: Methyl salicylate

2. A sheet will be handed out from Sax's Dangerous Properties of Industrial Materials. Please completely interpret the item number assigned to you.
