Liz is responsible for managing the operations and research functions of the Institute. Liz reports on challenges and successes in promoting the development and adoption of safer materials in industry. Her case focus is TURI s current electronics supply chain project. In her 14 years working at the Institute, Liz has provided technical research and support services to Massachusetts companies with the goal of identifying safer alternatives to toxic chemicals used in manufacturing and products. <P> Liz was the project manager for a $250,000 Five Chemicals Alternatives Assessment Study completed in July 2006 commissioned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to assess alternatives to five priority toxic or hazardous chemicals. Liz s other recent work has focused on the formation of industry supply chain workgroups to help companies comply with international regulations that restrict the use of certain chemicals, including lead and brominated flame retardants. Her other activities include design for the environment, chemical substitution, and analysis of industry progress in reducing waste and toxic chemical use. Liz holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Cornell University in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Hazardous Materials Management from Tufts University. <hr size=8 noshade><P> </TD></TR></TABLE> </html>
