The Center for Lowell History Helps Launch the New Greater Lowell Franco‑American Digital Archive

This summer the Greater Lowell Franco‑American Digital Archive launched. This collaboration, which began in the fall of 2023. The Center for Lowell History has long played a vital role in making primary source documents from Lowell’s many ethnic communities publicly available. This collaboration has culminated in the new Franco American Collections at the Center for Lowell History. The milestone of these efforts is the successful raising of funds to support a project to digitize L’Étoile, Lowell’s French-language newspaper published from 1886–1957 for which early editions are already available on the CLH’s Internet Archives Website with more on the way soon.
Read more about this collaboration from UML news. The archive is available on the CLH webpage for you to peruse and enjoy!
