THE LOWELL QUILT

The 16 patch tied Lowell quilt was handmade in 
the 19th century from Lowell fabric, possibly 
woven and dyed at the Hamilton Print Works, a 
textile company known for their brown calicos. 
 
 

THE LOWELL ARTIFACTS

The four display cases contain illustrations, 
letters, books, and clothing representing 
important aspects of the individuals and 
paintings by the Shutes.
