Springer Reference Trial through June 30, 2012

Springer Media is providing UMass Lowell with trial access to their Springer Reference web site through the month of June, 2012.

SpringerReference.com consists of over 146 peer-reviewed large Encyclopedias, Handbooks, Dictionaries, Bibliographies and Data collections that focus primarily on the sciences but also covers many other subject areas:
  • Biomedical and Life Sciences
  • Business and Economics
  • Chemistry and Material Science
  • Computer Science
  • Earth and Environmental Science
  • Engineering
  • Human Sciences
  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Medicine
  • Physics and Astronomy>Business and Economics

This material amounts to over 186,000 entries with over 30,00 new articles and over 10,000 updates added annually. Numerous images are also available to be viewed in the Image Gallery.

A History link for every article allows readers to consult past versions of the article for references and updates. Researchers can also post comments on the article in a community forum where other readers can respond and contribute.

Articles published on SpringerReference.com have to be cited as with any printed article. The citation contains the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) of the page together with a timestamp. Click on “cite” in the toolbar to obtain the citation text. Contributing authors to SpringerReference are accredited scientists hand-picked by the Editors-in-Chiefs and Editorial Boards. An Editorial Board monitors the development of articles and ensures the suitability and uniformity of the articles.
