ProQuest ABI/INFORM adds new Content and Browse Tab

This summer ProQuest Business Products added an abundance of new content to ABI-Inform, along with a new Browse Tab, and plan to add even more new titles in 2009.

New Browse Tab for Targeting Key Content

The new Browse tab inside ABI/INFORM helps researchers to quickly uncover valuable content types available within the database.

The tabbed Browse page enables quick access to highly sought non-journal content such as industry trends/forecasts, market research, market share, SWOT analysis, company profiles, industry and market research, commodity reports, company reports, country reports, dissertations and working papers.

The categories available under these headings allow users two different paths for discovery.

  1. Browse links lead to content from specific sources and publishers, such as First Research, EIU, BMI, Snapshots, Hoovers, Dissertations and more.
  2. Additional links allow users to launch ProQuest constructed search strings for locating results on industry trends and forecasts, market research articles, market share data articles and reports, and SWOT articles and reports.

New ABI/INFORM Resources

EIU Country Data Reports – Downloadable Data in Excel Spreadsheets –
ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry users can now access downloadable Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Country Data Reports, with data formatted into Excel spreadsheets. Current reports cover 1980 through 2030, and are updated monthly.

Researchers will be able to select reports by country or subject. This new content allows users proficient in Microsoft Excel to acquire and review useful data for sorting, analyzing, creating charts and graphs and more. Key indicators relate to GDP, imports, exports, prices, debt, wages, plus hundreds more. Sources are included with the data.
