Alexander Street Press is offering trial access to their Classical Scores Collection to the UMass Lowell community until January 3, 2010. For a direct link to the trial, please view the library’s Database Trials & New Resources page.
Classical Scores Library is targeted to be the most comprehensive database of classical scores, representing the major composers output, spanning all genres and time periods from the Western classical canon. Currently it contains nearly 14,000 scores totalling nearly 300,000 pages spanning time periods from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Coverage of score types is comprehensive, with full scores, study scores, piano and vocal scores, and piano reductions.
Content in the database includes in-copyright material from Boosey and Hawkes and selected material from the University Music Editions microfilm series.
Further releases will include the entire catalog of UME, as well as manuscript material from the Barry S. Brook Center for Music Research, and many new editions from other in-copyright publishers.
Scores can be printed by clicking on the ‘print’ icon in the image viewer. You can select whether to print all pages, a movement, or a page range. Printed Scores are to be used for individual use only (study, notation, etc). You are not allowed to perform from the printed version of the PDF.
